The home inspection process usually costs somewhere between $400 and $500, and the things that come up during the inspection can range from minor repairs and requests to those that are more extreme and disturbing.

If you elected to skip the inspection when you were purchasing a home, and you found out two months later that you had a bad roof that would cost $18,000 to fix, wouldn’t you be kicking yourself for it?

That’s why they’re so important. When you get the inspection report back from the inspector, you’ll find that they’re quite lengthy. This is because they include everything, from the caulking needed on the roof to the bathtub or AC unit that needs to be replaced.

Home Inspections Provide Valuable Insight Into the Condition of The Home

It can aid us in spotting any issues before they become a burden that can cost you thousands more than the inspection itself.

Inspections also help us out during negotiations with the home seller. They provide the buyer with leverage and give us a professional point of view when we approach the seller for requests like price reductions and help with closing costs.

Further still, if any issues are found with major systems in the home (electrical, plumbing, etc.), all of the relevant experts can be brought to the home to take a look and provide estimates for repairs and replacements.

All in all, home inspections provide valuable insight into the condition of the home and can aid us in spotting any issues before they become a burden that can cost you thousands more than the inspection itself.
